Polo Fundraiser to Feature Albert Lee, Peter Asher
Malibu nonprofit organization Safety Harbor Kids will be hosting their 9th Annual Polo Classic at the historic Will Rogers Park in Pacific Palisades on September 10th, featuring Grammy winning guitarist, Albert Lee.
Partnering with luxury and performance automotive dealer O’Gara Bentley and high end property company
Engel & Voelkers, Safety Harbor Kids (SHK) supports disadvantaged children through education programs in academics, career counseling, music and art. The charity fundraiser will include a polo match while guests dine on a gourmet luncheon on fine china, seated field side enjoying the game of kings.
With special entertainment by Grammy winner Albert Lee, and half time show featuring Dream World Cirque, guests will also enjoy an open bar, high tea by
Charles & Company Tea, an art exhibition and a silent auction. Afterwards guests can relax in the VIP lounge provided by Kool Party Rentals and enjoy private cabanas, wine tasting and chamber music in the Safety Harbor Kids Orchid Garden.
Held at the Will Rogers State Historic Park, the venue offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the Pacific Ocean. The site has been the filming location of many films, including Star Trek IV (William Shatner, Nichelle Nicols 1986). Old Hollywood royalty including Clark Gable, Joan Crawford, Walt Disney, and Gary Cooper also frequented the polo estate formerly owned by 1930’s entertainer Will Rogers.
Supported by the British American Business Council, Brits in LA, Garnet Security, Valet of the Dolls, Longshot
Mobile Espresso Bar, Coffee, Hint Water, and DAMA Tequila, the event will also include red carpet photos, champagne divot stomp, surprise entertainment, and vocal performances. Last year’s attendees included Caitlin Jenner, John Savage (Deer Hunter, 1978) and music legend and Defender of the British Empire Peter Asher, who will emcee the event this year.
