Community Honors Victims of 9/11

Pepperdine community honors victims of 9-11. Pepperdine students, staff, faculty and friends will gather at the Thomas Burnett Heroes Garden on Pepperdine University’s Malibu campus to honor the heroes whose lives were lost on September 11, 2001.
The Thomas Burnett Heroes Garden was created to honor the memory of those who lost their lives to terrorist on September 11, 2001.  The site is named after Thomas E. Burnett, Jr., an alumnus who perished on Flight 93 Pennsylvania.

Matthew McCay, Seaver College graduate student and former military commander, will offer a brief devotional. There will also be a scripture reading from Dr. Michael Shires, Associate Professor of Public Policy, a prayer by Associate Chaplain Jen Christy, and a presentation of a memorial wreath by Student Government President Demisse Selassie, Sgt. Jaime Gladin and Officer Alex Carrillo (both military veterans).
